I am named for a 1980s supergroup. I am named for a 1980s superpower.
It is funny how life intimates art. Japan was a super economic power. It controlled the manufacturing markets. It was the leading importer to the United States. Their management philosophy was the envy of America. But people copied their program and moved their plants and technology to cheaper labor spots like Korea. Then Korea is on the rise; and Japan suffers. Now Korea suffers because the manufacturing has moved to China. Japan is still in the midst of a fifteen plus year recession. Its power and influence has faded like that music supergroup of the same era. Pop music comes and goes, and so does economic might. It is fickle, like an artist's fan base.
